Some interesting facts

The Political Wire has an interesting pair of facts: In the 15 states that pay the most tax per capita, 2 went to Bush and in the 20 states that pay the least tax per capita, 2 went to Kerry in the 2004 election.

Make of this what you will.

The study by the U.S. Census Bureau shows the top five states for per capita tax are Vermont, Hawaii, Wyoming, Connecticut, and Delaware. The lowest paying states are Tennessee, Missouri, Colorado, New Hampshire, Texas, with South Dakota paying the least - less than half of Vermont's total - in taxes. See the list here.
